Description
Another of of a series of paintings I have done over the years in which I incorporate my version of paintings by famous impressionists. In this case a still life with cornflowers on a table with an apple and pear and in the background the painting "Young Peasant Woman with Straw Hat Sitting in the Wheat" by Vincent VanGogh.
Vincent especially fascinates me because of his life, his trials and tribulation. I can relate to him in many ways. He was deeply concerned with justice and eventually ha became a vegetarian after visiting the abattoirs in the south of France.
Because he was opinionated (can I ever relate to that ;-) he was often difficult to get along with but his heart was so good! His painting have the kind of grid and sincerity that is simply everlasting. The colors are often in such contrast to the grumpy person he could be. In many ways he had a childlike mind, but highly intelligent and a constant thinker, which of course left him vulnerable to the cruel realities of life and people. He really was a special light in the world. The latest on how he really came to be shot and eventually die, makes much more sense then the stories of suicide that never really made sense to me.
